The city of St. Joseph will have an open house on Tuesday, April 25 to let residents look at plans for a proposed community and recreation center. The open house starts at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25 at St. Joseph Government Center, 75 Callaway St. E. Murray Mack of the architectural firm HMA will make a presentation at 6 p.m. The open house ends at 7 p.m. Residents will have an opportunity to review concept plans and comment on them. The concept plans show space for Little Saints Academy (a day care operation), for historical displays, three gyms, a food shelf and senior-youth meeting areas. The community center will use the Colts Academy building that the city purchased from the St. Cloud school district. The project is funded by a half-cent sales tax.

The committee is meeting this Wednesday to review all the comments and suggestions that were given at the open house. In the meantime I posted the schematics that were reviewed with the participants.
